Meet Our Project Manager, Fleets and Infrastructure: Quin O’Brien!
How long have you been involved with Drive Clean Colorado?
I have worked with Drive Clean Colorado for several years before being hired on. I managed a Charge Ahead Colorado project from conception to completion and successfully received reimbursement through the program. I have also attended numerous EV / clean transportation events through the years that DCC has been a part of. As for employment, I was just hired on in July, 2024.
What is one project or initiative you’re excited to be working on?
I would say DCC’s Workplace Charging Initiative, Watts@Work, because of my direct experience here. Installing workplace charging can be very challenging from a land-ownership perspective (it’s very common for companies to lease and not own the office space they reside in). Because I’ve dealt with this first-hand, I believe I’ll be able to share best practices and give advice that will make a difference in getting more chargers installed in workplaces across the state!
What sparked your interest to work in the clean transportation space?
First off, I’ve worked in the transportation space my whole career. As my career has developed, I have seen the focus of the industry collectively shifting towards electric and alternatively-fueled vehicles. Not only is it fun and interesting to be working on the cutting edge of what is emerging in the industry from a technology perspective, but it is also meaningful work. Being an expert and advocate working in the clean transportation space directly helps reduce the harmful effects of transport on the world’s natural environment.
Is there anything else you’d like to share? A fun fact about yourself?
I love traveling. Earlier this year I did my first trip in Asia going to Vietnam and Tokyo and have a trip planned in November to go to Mexico City. My favorite hobbies are running, rock climbing, snowboarding, and film photography.
