Interns

There may be multiple positions open the the Fall 2026 session. 

 

Drive Clean Colorado is looking for interns who have a passion for equitable and sustainable transportation. We need team members who are collaborative and ready to put their problem-solving skills to work. If you are interested in clean transportation and clean air for all Coloradans and want a chance to learn and grow with our team and our coalition stakeholders, we want to hear from you. 

As part of our small team, you will help shape an intern experience that meets your educational goals and gain hands-on experience with everything from zero-emission vehicles and transportation infrastructure to ride & drive events and community education. 

  • Outreach Interns with a focus on events like ride & drives, expos and conferences, and other outreach opportunities
  • Regional Interns with a focus on our work in various areas – Fort Collins and Northern Colorado, Colorado Springs and East Central Colorado, Pueblo and Southeast Colorado
  • Communications Interns with a focus on public relations, marketing, stakeholder engagement and communications

Responsibilities 

  • Assist in current project development and the rollout of new clean transportation projects. 
  • Support educational outreach and events such as EV ride & drives and road shows — including planning, promotion, and attending events around the state (expenses covered). 
  • Help plan and support the Drive Clean Summit & Expo. 
  • Assist with technology and infrastructure analysis and support EV and EV charging coaching efforts. 
  • Measure and report on initiatives and projects; analyze survey data from events and other activities. 
  • Develop newsletter articles and blog posts; help develop social media content. 
  • Engage with stakeholders and communities. 

Qualifications 

  • Interest and curiosity in all things clean transportation. 
  • Positive attitude and a strong teamwork ethic. 
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently. 
  • Comfortable multitasking in a deadline-driven environment. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Located in Colorado with the ability to work remotely. 
  • Ability and willingness to work some weekends during event season. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Academic background or coursework in sustainability, environmental science, communications, business, or a related field. 
  • Experience with social media platforms and content creation. 
  • Familiarity with EVs or clean transportation. 

Expectations 

  • Show up consistently, meet deadlines, and communicate proactively with your supervisor. 
  • Come prepared to team meetings and follow through on assigned tasks. 
  • Bring curiosity and a willingness to learn across a variety of project areas. 
  • Represent DCC professionally in interactions with stakeholders and event attendees. 

Compensation & Benefits 

Salary Range: Competitive hourly rate starting at $22/hour, based on experience and undergraduate/graduate level

Project Manager

DCC’s Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and completing defined projects that advance our mission and strategic plan. This position focuses on implementation — managing timelines, deliverables, budgets, reporting requirements, and stakeholder coordination to ensure successful completion of assigned initiatives. 

The Project Manager operates within established program goals and strategic direction set by organizational leadership. This role ensures projects are completed efficiently, on time, and on budget while maintaining strong communication with internal team members and external stakeholders. 

Excellent problem-solving, organization, and time management skills are essential, as is the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects independently. 

There may be multiple positions open: 

  • Regional Project Managers with a focus on our work outside of the Metro area – Fort Collins and Northern Colorado, Colorado Springs and East Central Colorado, Pueblo and Southeast Colorado

Responsibilities 

Project Planning & Execution 

  • Manage and coordinate assigned projects from initiation through completion. 
  • Develop project work plans, timelines, milestones, and task assignments. 
  • Track deliverables and ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget. 
  • Maintain organized documentation and compliance with funding requirements. 

Budget & Reporting 

  • Monitor individual project budgets and expenses. 
  • Produce required reports for management, funders, and stakeholders. 
  • Ensure timely submission of deliverables and reporting requirements. 

Stakeholder Engagement & Coordination 

  • Engage effectively with team members and stakeholders to build trust, strengthen partnerships, and contribute to the growth and sustainability of DCC. 
  • Communicate project status and updates to internal team members and external partners. 
  • Support cultivation of stakeholders and sponsors in coordination with leadership. 
  • Coordinate across related initiatives to avoid duplication and ensure consistency. 

Evaluation & Improvement 

  • Implement established evaluation protocols for assigned projects. 
  • Identify implementation challenges and propose solutions. 
  • Support continuous improvement within project scope. 

Program Support 

  • Contribute to broader program efforts as directed. 
  • Participate in working groups and meetings related to assigned projects. 
  • Support development of outreach materials, educational resources, and event execution. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, sustainability, environmental science, or a related field. 
  • 2–3 years of project management or coordination experience. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently. 
  • Strong organizational and communication skills. 
  • Working knowledge of the clean transportation industry and environmental justice. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with CRM software (HubSpot) and Microsoft Teams/SharePoint. 
  • Familiarity with grant reporting and compliance requirements. 
  • Experience with EVs and/or fleet electrification. 
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish preferred). 

Expectations 

  • Independently manage assigned projects within ReCharge, Clean Cities, workforce, fleet, or related initiatives. 
  • Own project-level coordination including events, outreach, stakeholder engagement, reporting, and deliverables. 
  • Support the creation of educational content such as guidebooks, tools, and other resources. 
  • Participate in relevant state-led and regional meetings appropriate to assigned projects. 
  • Maintain strong communication with team members to ensure alignment with program goals. 

Compensation & Benefits 

Salary Range: $65,000 – $75,000 depending on qualifications
