Drive Clean Colorado is excited to spotlight one of our Community Partners, the City of Lafayette! Lafayette is committed to sustainable, affordable transportation. Lafayette’s Sustainability and Resilience Advisory Committee works with RTD, Xcel Energy, and other communities to provide accessible transportation that improves health, air quality, and decreases traffic congestion. The city has installed three public EV charging ports and hosted Ecotober, its first large-scale, community-focused sustainability event in Boulder County. Our Drive Electric Colorado initiative also hosted an EV showcase with the city during Earth Month at the Lafayette Earth Day EV event. Both events engaged a variety of sustainable exhibitors, displayed an EV showcase, and provided opportunities for the community to learn and interact with one another. This year, the City of Lafayette plans to expand this even further and looks forward to increased community involvement.
We chatted with Elizabeth Szorad, Sustainability Manager at the City of Lafayette, about the city’s relationship with DCC: “Drive Clean Colorado is instrumental to the city as it explores and develops new avenues on how we can best support sustainable transportation options for our residents and businesses. We are thankful for our partnership and look forward to continuing our work in 2023.”
