The City of Lafayette, Colorado, is taking big steps to increase access to public electric vehicle (EV) charging. In 2025, the City was awarded $168,000 from the Colorado Energy Office’s Charge Ahead Colorado grant to install EV charging stations at three public locations.
With construction beginning in late January 2026, five new charging stations are on the way. There will be:
- Two DC fast chargers at the Lafayette Public Library
- One DC fast charger at Lafayette Fire Station #1
- Two Level 2 chargers at Indian Peaks Golf Course
Currently, the City of Lafayette only has one charging station at the Public Library, one at City Hall, and two at Bob L. Burger Recreation Center. Winn–Marion Companies, a turnkey EV charger installer, worked with the City of Lafayette to make these charging stations a reality.
With support from the Colorado Energy Office, the City of Lafayette is expanding access to charging for community members. This effort supports the City’s Climate Action Plan, aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 80% below 2021 levels by 2030.

We’re looking forward to the exciting projects the City of Lafayette has planned for 2026.
The Charge Ahead Colorado program accepts applications on a rolling basis throughout the year. Organizations interested in implementing public charging are encouraged to connect with their regional ReCharge Coach for guidance and support.
