For someone looking to bring electric transportation to their business, community, or home, knowing where to start can be one of the biggest challenges. From charging infrastructure and installation to grants, incentives, and changing regulations, there is a lot to navigate.
That’s where ReCharge Colorado comes in.
What is ReCharge Colorado?
ReCharge Colorado is a Colorado Energy Office program that connects communities, organizations, businesses, and individuals with coaches who can help navigate electric transportation resources and opportunities.
ReCharge Coaches bring knowledge of statewide programs and resources along with an understanding of the communities and regions they serve. The local perspective matters because the needs and challenges surrounding electric transportation can look different across Colorado.
A business exploring fleet electrification, a community considering charging infrastructure, and a resident looking into EV incentives may all have very different questions. Coaches connect them with information and resources that can help them take their next step.
Staying Current to Serve Colorado Communities
Being a resource also means staying current as the electric transportation landscape changes. In early August, ReCharge Coaches from across Colorado came together with the Colorado Energy Office for a training focused on the programs, policies, and resources they help communities navigate.
Coaches heard from program managers overseeing opportunities such as Charge Ahead Colorado and Fleet-ZERO, while also learning more about Colorado’s changing energy environment, utilities, and evolving EV regulations.
As programs and regulations change, coaches need to understand what is new as well as what those changes could mean for the people they serve.
As Harrison Killo, Denver Metro East ReCharge Coach put it, “Effective outreach isn’t just about making programs available. It’s about making sure information is accessible, clear, culturally relevant, and reaching communities that may face additional barriers.”
Keeping up with new information is only part of the job. Coaches also help make sense of that information and connect it to their own needs.
The training also gave coaches the opportunity to hear from people working across the electric transportation and energy industries. Learning from different perspectives gave coaches a broader view of the work happening across Colorado and the many roles that contribute to the state’s electric transportation landscape.
They can take that knowledge back to the communities they serve.
Have Questions About Electric Transportation?
Electric transportation doesn’t look the same in every part of Colorado, and figuring out the right next step can be complicated. You don’t have to navigate it alone.
Whether you’re just getting started or have a specific project in mind, a ReCharge Coach can help you understand your options and find the right resources.
