Drive Clean Colorado and Xcel Energy Announce Working Agreement
The organizations will work to increase electric vehicle and charging education statewide
Drive Clean Colorado and Xcel Energy today announced a new working agreement to support both organizations’ efforts to increase consumer education and adoption of electric vehicles and charging in Colorado. This private/non-profit relationship is a significant step toward reaching each organizations’ emissions reduction goals.
Highlights of the agreement include:
- Drive Clean Colorado’s “Drive Electric Colorado” initiative will promote Xcel Energy’s consumer charging programs for workplaces, multi-family homes, and income-qualified communities.
- Drive Electric Colorado’s free electric vehicle coaching program will further integrate Xcel Energy’s incentive programs in their individualized coaching sessions and guide buyers on how to leverage them.
- Drive Electric Colorado will work alongside auto dealers in the state to train sales staff about Xcel Energy’s EV charging incentive programs.
- Drive Electric Colorado will support Xcel Energy’s Commercial & Industrial activities for fleet and industry outreach.
“We are thrilled to work with Xcel Energy to support their already robust EV charging programs by educating more consumers and decision-makers about the opportunities that exist to electrify their transportation choices,” said Bonnie Trowbridge, Executive Director of Drive Clean Colorado. “There is a lot of work to be done to accelerate the use of EVs for consumers and fleets in Colorado, and this agreement will allow us to put the pedal to the metal, so to speak, to support and educate people about EVs and EV chargers in all areas of the state.”
“This agreement supports a key component in Xcel Energy’s 2030 Clean Energy Plan’s customer-focused programs, ensuring more consumers are aware of the benefits of electric vehicles and how we can help them charge at home” said Alisa Sobczak, Electric Vehicles – Sr. Product Portfolio Manager at Xcel Energy. “We appreciate Drive Electric Colorado’s strong outreach and education programs and look forward to a successful relationship.”
