[Aurora, Colorado] Food Bank of the Rockies has recently installed twenty (20) electric vehicle (EV) charging station ports at their new distribution center in Aurora, Colorado, serving both public and workplace EV drivers.

This project was made possible through the Colorado Energy Office’s Charge Ahead Colorado program and marks one of the largest Level 2 workplace charging awards supported by the ReCharge Coaches in 2025.

“Nourishing our communities sustainably is at the heart of everything we do,” said Erin Pulling, CEO of Food Bank of the Rockies. “Investing in electric vehicle charging stations at our new, purpose-built distribution center provides a meaningful benefit to our staff and community, reflecting our ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and being good stewards of natural resources.”

The new center triples volunteer capacity, quadruples kitchen space for meal preparation, and can distribute up to 50% more fresh produce and up to 300% more culturally responsive food—because dignity means having access to meals that feel like home. The addition of EV charging stations further supports both workplace drivers and visitors, making sustainability a central part of daily operations.

“Drive Clean Colorado is thrilled about the installation of these charging stations at Food Bank of the Rockies’ new distribution center,” said Jenna Wyatt, Program Manager at Drive Clean Colorado. “Imagine topping off your EV while volunteering, or fully charging at the end of your workday. Amenities like this make Food Bank of the Rockies a local champion for improved air quality and community sustainability.”

The Charge Ahead Colorado program accepts applications on a rolling basis throughout the year. Organizations interested in implementing workplace charging are encouraged to connect with their regional ReCharge Coach for guidance and support. To learn more about the Watts@Work program and available funding opportunities, visit our Funding & Incentives page.
