Pueblo County Celebrates EV Charging Upgrade at Historic Courthouse
Drive Clean Colorado, Pueblo County, and Partners Collaborate to Support EV Readiness
Pueblo, CO – April 22, 2025 – Pueblo County has recently upgraded its electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure at the Historic Courthouse. The previous single charging station has been replaced with three new dual-port Level 2 ABB chargers, providing a total of six charging ports to serve both public and workplace EV drivers.
This important project was made possible through collaboration between staff at Pueblo County, Drive Clean Colorado, Black Hills Energy, and EVSeg. Funding for this installation came from a combination of local and state incentives, including a grant from the Colorado Energy Office’s Charge Ahead Colorado (CAC) program.
“This project show cases the power of collaboration,” said AJ Samora, Southeastern Regional Coordinator at Drive Clean Colorado. “Pueblo County’s investment in EV infrastructure helps lay the foundation for cleaner air, economic opportunity, and increased EV adoption here in the region. We’re proud to support their continued leadership in this space.”
“Powered by collaboration, this public EV initiative strengthens Pueblo County’s dedication to a sustainable future for all,” Jared Miera, Department of Public Works Energy Manger recently commented on the project.
