Earlier this month, the Drive Clean Colorado team joined fellow coalitions from across the country at the Clean Cities and Communities Annual Workshop in Kansas City. The gathering is always a valuable opportunity to reconnect, exchange ideas and learn from people doing this work in communities of every size.
This year was especially meaningful for DCC.
The U.S. Department of Energy recognized our coalition with two awards: Excellence in Connecting Stakeholders, honoring our robust statewide engagement, and Excellence in Improving the Transportation Energy System, recognizing our work to implement and sustain innovative transportation technologies.
DCC Executive Director Bonnie Trowbridge was also inducted into the Clean Cities and Communities Hall of Fame, recognizing her leadership and long standing commitment to cleaner, more practical transportation solutions.
“These honors reflect the strength of the community around Drive Clean Colorado,” Bonnie said. “Our work depends on people who are willing to share what they know, try new approaches and help one another move good ideas forward. I am deeply grateful to our team, our members and the partners across Colorado who make that possible.”
Drive Clean Colorado has been part of the Clean Cities and Communities network since our founding in 1993. That connection continues to give us access to national expertise while allowing us to bring Colorado’s experiences, challenges and successes into a larger conversation.
We returned from Kansas City proud of what we have accomplished together and energized for the work ahead. Thank you to our staff, board, members, funders and partners throughout Colorado. These recognitions belong to all of you.
