As Colorado’s clean transportation network continues to grow, so does the need for a workforce that can build, maintain, and support the infrastructure behind it.
Charging stations are an important part of that infrastructure, but making sure they are installed and maintained safely takes people with the right skills and training. Building that workforce is an important piece of moving clean transportation forward, and it takes involvement from across the industry.
One opportunity is coming up this fall in Northglenn. The IECRM Electric Vehicle Charging Station Training Program begins October 2 and will give participants hands-on experience and foundational knowledge for working with EV charging infrastructure, including installation, safety and applicable electrical code requirements. The six-week program is offered on Friday evenings and includes 20 continuing education units (CEUs). Scholarships to cover class fees are available through IECRM’s partnership with Red Rocks Community College.
