Meet Desiree Moore: Program Manager for Northern Colorado

If you’ve spent any time around Drive Clean Colorado, you’ve probably heard the phrase “trusted local partner.” Desiree Moore is a big reason that phrase actually means something on the ground.

Desiree serves as Drive Clean Colorado’s Program Manager for Northern Colorado, a region that is as vast as it is diverse. Her work centers on championing clean and equitable transportation solutions, while helping communities, fleets, and organizations navigate what can feel like a complex transition. In practice, that means providing clear guidance, practical solutions, and connections to a deep network of experience so people can move forward with confidence.

On any given day, Desiree is collaborating with sustainability networks, industry leaders, EV consumers, and fleets. She provides education on new transportation technologies and fuels, supports partners through grant and funding opportunities, and helps translate big ideas into actions that actually work at the local level. Northern Colorado is a big place, and Desiree is often the steady throughline helping communities figure out what makes sense for them.

Her interest in clean transportation started early. An internship with the former Northern Colorado Clean Cities coalition was a turning point, sparking a passion that has guided her career ever since. Transportation, she realized, is deeply personal. Coming from a family that once relied on public transit as their primary way of getting around, Desiree understands firsthand how essential reliable, affordable mobility is. That perspective continues to shape her work and her commitment to practical solutions that help everyone go places.

One area she’s especially excited about is community-driven projects. Her work with partners like the Brush Housing Authority and Loveland Housing Authority has offered meaningful insight into the real, everyday challenges people face when it comes to mobility. She’s particularly interested in the contrasts between rural and urban communities and how solutions need to be tailored, not copy-pasted. Creating approaches that reflect local realities is what motivates her day to day.

For Desiree, the most rewarding part of her role is seeing tangible results. Watching partners succeed, secure funding, and move projects forward confirms that Drive Clean Colorado is doing what it set out to do. In her role as a ReCharge Coach, she has supported partners such as Larimer County and many others as they pursue grants and adopt cleaner transportation options. Those wins reinforce DCC’s role as a trusted partner and make the long hours worth it.

Outside of transportation, Desiree brings a fun twist to the team. She majored in Wildlife Biology, so conversations about animals, ecosystems, and conservation are always welcome. Born and raised in Colorado Springs, she’s come to deeply appreciate the diversity of Northern Colorado, from Grand County all the way to Yuma County. Different places, different perspectives, and different needs all shape how clean mobility shows up across the region.

At the heart of Desiree’s work is collaboration. She’s driven by the idea that sharing knowledge, resources, and relationships is how meaningful change happens. Her goal is simple and ambitious at the same time: to help ensure that the transition to clean transportation is successful, practical, and equitable for every community across Northern Colorado.
