XCharge participates in Drive Clean Colorado’s Workplace Charging Initiative, Watts@Work (W@W). W@W helps workplaces reduce barriers to electric vehicle (EV) adoption by expanding charging access for employees. Recently, XCharge, in collaboration with partners, successfully installed a state-of-the-art DC Fast Charger—the fastest charger Fort Collins has seen. This new charger at the Powerhouse Energy Campus addresses the growing demand for efficient workplace charging in a region increasingly dedicated to sustainable transportation solutions. Who you are and what your role is at XCharge?
I am Eric Backsen and I work as a Business Development Specialist at XCharge North America. XCharge, founded in 2015, is a global leader in integrated EV charging solutions. The Company offers comprehensive EV charging solutions which primarily include the DC fast chargers, the advanced battery-integrated DC fast chargers, as well as its accompanying services. Through the combination of XCharge’s proprietary charging technology, energy storage system technology, and accompanying services, XCharge enhances EV charging efficiency and unlocks the value of energy storage and management. Committed to providing innovative and efficient EV charging solutions, XCharge is actively working towards establishing a global green future that is critical to long-term growth and development.

What are the next steps for XCharge?
Our next steps are focused on increasing the reliability of our charging stations to ensure consistent and dependable performance. We’re also prioritizing close collaboration with our customers to tailor our solutions to best meet their needs. At the same time, we’re developing cutting-edge battery-integrated and standalone DCFC charging solutions, positioning us to lead the next wave of innovation in the EV charging industry.

Being involved with Drive Clean Colorado has helped me to meet other individuals who work in the same industry and grow my professional network. DCC puts out a great mix of online and in person learning opportunities to participate locally. If EV charging was easy, everyone would be doing it. Overcoming the industry challenges and having access to a wealth of knowledge around local/state incentive programs is helpful for me to utilize in order to drive sales with our customers.
