Stakeholder Spotlight: Ohm on the Range

November 7, 2024

Drive Clean Colorado is excited to spotlight a key player in the EV industry with a unique approach to getting ICE vehicles off the road- through electric conversions. Ohm on the Range is an organization dedicated to promoting electric mobility through a workforce development lens by creating opportunities for students to learn how to convert gas vehicles to electric. Ohm On The Range is pleased to soon be rolling out curriculum from Legacy EV! In the meantime, the next hosted EV Systems Training will take place November 11-12. This 2-day course will provide an ideal hands-on learning experience designed for anyone looking to build foundational skills to work on electric vehicles properly and safely.

A key part of their approach is keeping older vehicles on the road, which emphasizes the sustainability benefits of “upcycling” and repurposing existing cars. Ohm on the Range hosts one of the most prominent events in the EV conversion industry, the annual “State of Charge” educational conference. By bringing together a variety of stakeholders, this conference facilitates important discussions and collaboration around accelerating EV adoption through conversion efforts. Details for “State of Charge ’25” will be forthcoming at the beginning of the new year.

One of the benefits Ohm on the Range receives from partnering with Drive Clean Colorado (DCC) is having access to a central hub for information on all the available funding opportunities related to electric vehicles and clean transportation. As a local non-profit, it is especially helpful to easily access and leverage those resources to support Ohm on the Range’s initiatives and expand program offerings. Terry, the Founder and Director, acknowledges the need for the type of nonprofit advocacy work that Drive Clean Colorado provides in the electrified transportation industry. Overall, Ohm on the Range’s focus on clean transportation and workforce development truly complements Drive Clean Colorado’s efforts, and this collaboration is critical to support Colorado’s goals of widespread EV adoption across the state.

Here’s what Terry had to say about Ohm on the Range’s partnership with DCC, “Drive Clean Colorado has proven to be an effective leader advocating for electric transportation, representing both the interests of its stakeholders and the general public. A true coalition of coaches, advocates, and industry experts, they work tirelessly behind-the-scenes as well as showing up ‘in person’ at events across the state — championing EV culture always with a smile. I support and appreciate the work they do!”
