Meet Our Southeast Program Manager: A.J. Samora!

A.J. joined the Drive Clean Colorado team in August of 2023 as the Southeast Regional Project Coordinator. As a native of Pueblo, Colorado, AJ has been engaged with the community for several years through his customer and public relations work with the Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce for such events as the Colorado State Fair, the Pueblo Chile and Frijoles Festival and the National Street Rod Association Car Show, while also attending Colorado State University Pueblo.

In addition, AJ worked to promote new Chamber business members to the Pueblo and surrounding communities through networking events such as Business After-Hours, Business During Lunch, and grand openings. He also has previous involvements in State Organizations as an expert IT and Media. His knowledge of social media and media marketing and his strong community relationships in the area are an asset in promoting a better understanding of the value of EVs and other forms of clean transportation in the region. AJ looks forward to his work with Drive Clean Colorado, with the goal of increasing awareness of clean transportation and EVs in the Southern Region of Colorado.

What drives your passion for the work that you do at DCC?

Creating a clean air future for my community while also solving transportation issues/needs throughout the entire region.

What region do you live in and serve?

I serve statewide initiatives with Drive Clean Colorado, as well as the Southern Colorado region — including my hometown and birthplace of Pueblo, CO.

What about working in the clean transportation industry excites you the most?

I get most excited to keep equity in mind in all the work we do within the region, to help solve the needs and wants of our communities. One of these mostly being to have access to funding opportunities for consumer vehicle leasing/purchasing, fleet electrification, or EV Charging Installation. Charge Ahead Colorado has been the lead runner in grant funding that anyone from huge organizations to small businesses, have looked to acquire funding. That way they can provide charging as an amenity to their staff or customers/clients. If you are in the Southeast Region, make sure to reach out and let’s discuss how we can Charge Ahead to a clean future.

What has been the most rewarding aspect of your involvement with Drive Clean Colorado?

The most rewarding has been mostly seeing the impact and advancement in EV adoption within the region from our work, especially in rural communities.
