Help Shape Colorado’s EV Future: Suggest Charging Locations
The State of Colorado is committed to expanding access to electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across the state. To achieve this, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is seeking input from the public to identify where new EV chargers should be installed.

Why Your Input Matters
Public input is vital to ensure EV charging infrastructure meets the needs of Coloradans and visitors alike. Whether you’re commuting in urban areas, exploring the state’s scenic byways, or traveling through rural regions, your insights can guide the strategic placement of chargers to reduce range anxiety, support clean transportation, and create equitable access to EV technology.

“CDOT and our state agency partners are always looking for public input on where Coloradans need more EV charging, and this tool will help to drive future investments around the state.”- Michael King, Assistant Director of Energy and Electrification

How to Share Your Suggestions
CDOT’s new EV Charging Station Location Suggestion Tool makes it easy for you to share your recommendations:

  1. Explore the map – Use the interactive map to zoom into a location where you believe an EV charging station would be beneficial.
  2. Leave a pin – Click on the map to mark the location.
  3. Provide details – Complete a brief questionnaire explaining why this spot is a good fit for an EV charging station.

Amplifying Community Voices
At Drive Clean Colorado, we are excited to use this tool to amplify the voices of the communities we serve. By encouraging local input, we can better advocate for charging infrastructure that addresses regional needs, prioritizes equitable access, and helps reduce emissions in areas with the greatest air quality challenges. Through our outreach and engagement, we will work to ensure this tool is accessible and widely used, through our Recharge Coaches, dealership partnerships, community events, and beyond.

Who will know better where chargers are needed than Colorado’s EV drivers themselves? This tool is essential to helping us understand exactly where EV drivers would use more charging options so we can work with providers to deploy chargers exactly where they will be used.” Bonnie Trowbridge, Executive Director of Drive Clean Colorado

Get Involved Today
Suggestions gathered through this tool will inform Colorado’s EV charging station planning efforts. This initiative is part of the state’s broader commitment to clean transportation, working with private, nonprofit, and utility partners to support public charging infrastructure across Colorado.
